BUJIARS increased their lead at the top of the summer triples league at Louth Indoor Bowls Club to five points with two more victories last week.
The first was a comfortable 23-3 win over Mix and Match but they were given a tougher test in their second game as Mudlarks fought back from 0-7 behind to level at 7-all before Bujiars went on to win 12-7.
Mudlarks had earlier done the leaders a favour as they beat Oaks 18-8, coming back from 4-8 down to win seven successive ends.
Oaks stayed second, however, four points ahead of Mudlarks, thanks to a 16-9 win over Rolling Scones who had previously staged a remarkable fightback to come from 9-12 down to beat Two Plus One 23-12 by winning the last three ends with scores of 4, 8 and 2.
Two Plus One blew it again in their second game against bottom team Numbskulls when they let sip a 9-0 lead to lose 12-20.
Numbskulls had lost their first game 11-14 against fellow strugglers Magnificent 7 who then moved two points clear of their rivals with a 12-7 victory over Mix and Match.
It’s getting tense at the top of the Friday evening Pairs.
Pickerill and Dunham remain top virtue of shots difference ahead of Espin and Sharp but just three points separate the top six.
D Stringer and L. hompson moved off the bottom, swapping places with D Farrington and G Chesman who they beat 16-9.
