Louth Swimming Club recently held their annual Club Championships January Presentation Night at the Town Hall.

A capacity crowd filled the ballroom after what has to be the most successful year in the clubs 28-year history

This year events produced a spectacular 381 personal best times and a staggering 173 new or improved county qualifying times a fabulous achievement by all the swimmers.

This year the event was sponsored by The Louth Town Council, with presentations made by coaching staff and Louth Mayor Andrew Leonard, who was accompanied by councillor Jill Makinson-Saunders, Mrs Rachael Mitchell nee Prestwood, one of the club’s original members and Richard Bell.

Club Champions 2014 were: 9/u Boys – Reuben Heywood , 9/u Girls – Pheobe Payne, 10/11 yr Boys – Jayden Daniels, 10/11 yr Girls – Amy Gilpin, 12/13 yr Boys – William Thompson, 12/13 yr Girls – Zekqeita Lewis, 14/15 yr Boys – Tom Harrop, 14/15 yr Girls – Sofie Schneider, 16/Over Boys – William McIntyre, 16/Over Girls – Katherine Brown, Most Pb’s at 2014 County Champs – William McIntyre (13), Fastest Boy 2014 (400m Free) – Owen Hall, Fastest Girl 2014 (400m Free) – Lois Kemp.
