Louth Swimming Club swam in the third and final round of the Senior Lincs League on Saturday July 5 at Lincoln Yarborough pool.

The team were up against some very strong competition from Cleethorpes, City of Lincoln Pentaqua, Lincoln Vulcans and Grantham.

Louth SC finished fourth on the night and fourth in the league overall. From 48 events, Louth were victors in three, had four second places and 12 thirds and the swimmers gained 19 Personal Best times.

This was a great achievement, as the majority of the clubs swimmers were at an international competition in Eindhoven over the weekend and were missing from this gala.

Louth Swimmers of the Night accolade is awarded to nine-year-old Robert Patch. He enjoyed victories in both of his individual swims on the night.

Robert Patch was the first individual Louth winner in the Boys 10/u 50m Butterfly, which he won by just over half a second. Robert Patch was to gain his second win of the night in the Boys 10/u 50m Freestyle, which was a close shave for Robert and too close to call until the results were given out. He won by just 0.16 of a second.

Reuben Heywood won his 10/u 50m Backstroke event, winning by just 0.22 seconds. Again this was too close to call until the results were published.

Second places went to the following swimmers – Adam McIntyre in the Open 100m Breaststroke – gaining a good Pb into the bargain; Reuben Heywood in the 10/u 50m Breaststroke, also earning a Pb time; Boys 10/u Relay Teams (4 x 25m Freestyle and Medley) – Finley Cooksey, Solomon Willmington, Robert Patch and Reuben Heywood. All four boys acquitted themselves very well in both relay events, missing out on a win by less than a second in each race.

Third places on the night went to; Sofie Schneider (Girls Open 100m Breaststroke); Callum Kidd (Boys 14/u 100m Backstroke and Butterfly – both good Pb’s for Callum); Adam McIntyre (Boys Open 100m Butterfly); Thomas Richardson (Boys Open 100m Backstroke); Lily Miller (Girls Open 100m Backstroke); Laura Jeanes (Girls 10/u 50m Breaststroke); Libby Doubleday (Girls 10/u 50m Backstroke – Pb time).

Relay Teams coming third were as follows; Girls 10/u Freestyle – 4 x 25m (Daisy Price, Phoebe Payne, Chloe Bradley, Libby Doubleday); Boys Open Freestyle and Medley 4 x 50m (Harry Maw, Fred Schneider, Adam McIntyre, Thomas Richardson); Girls Open Freestyle 4 x 50m (Lily Miller, Emily Patch, Sofie Schneider, Emma Maw).

Swimmers gaining valuable points for the team and not previously mentioned, were; Harry Craig, William Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Poppy and Lily Jacklin, Jenna Wright, Zekquita Lewis, Jayden Daniels, Amelia Grantham, Bryony Plaskitt, Henry Crashley, Aaron Humphreys, Katie Roscoe, Victoria Patch. Many of these swimmers were swimming in age groups above their own, to make up teams, so thanks and a really well done go to all who swam in this gala.

Final points on the night were:

1st – Cleethorpes (200) pts; 2nd – Lincoln Vulcans (171) pts; 3rd – Grantham (138) pts; 4th -Louth (103) pts; 5th CLP Black (98).
