24 hour golf marathon for Seve Ballesteros’ charity at Greetham Valley course

GOLF legend Seve Ballesteros’ charity has scored a hole in one after a Louth golfer’s 24 hour exploits.

Louth Golf Club player Chris Cooper, 18, played for 24 hours along with two of his friends, Dan Carr and Ryan Tarrant, at Rutland’s Greetham Valley course.

Thanks to sponsorship as well as fundraising in Louth’s Morrison’s store, over £1,000 has been raised for the cause.

Chris said: “The event itself was long and tiring and hard on our legs and feet, but we got through it in the end.

“It was 24 hours of straight rain, all throught the night and day.

“The light up golf balls sponsored by Night Golf Supplies were excellent, and with SSP Golf energy bars they energised us too.

“We had great support from the club members of Greetham Valley and Rutland Radio who interviewed us before and whilst we were on the golf course”

People can still donate by visiting www.justgiving.com/seve1.
