It was a triumphant day for Louth athletes competing in the heat at the County Track and Field Championships in Grantham on Saturday.
Natalie Stainton was outstanding in the U17 women’s javelin, taking gold with a massive throw of 25.15m – six metres further than her closest rival.
She was awarded a cup for the best throw by a female in the championships and also achieved the Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) standard.
Natalie won podium places in the two other events she competed in and mum Kerry took first place in the veteran women’s 1,500m in 5.45.8.
Jason Stainton competed in no less than six track events from the 100m to 5,000m and took podium place finishes in all six, winning gold in the 800m.
Jevon George-Jones ran hard to take first place in the under 13 boys 1,500m in 5.05.1 and Patrick Byrne excelled to win the under 13 boys javelin with a throw of 24.96m.

Thanks to everyone who helped kick off the first Wolds Dash race of the summer on Wednesday at Hubbards Hills.

Race two is on Wednesday June 11, race three is on July 9, race four on August 13 and race five is on September 3.
All races start at 7pm and cost £3 for affiliated adult athletes, £5 unaffiliated and £2 juniors. Entries on the night at the Hubbards Hills café.
Louth AC’s women were awarded second place at the North Lincolnshire Half Marathon after a mix up with the results. They had been given third place on the day.
