This has been split into two sections with the eventual winners of each section playing off at the end of the campaign to determine the overall champions.

The triples league, which has attracted extra teams this summer, is played over Tuesday and Thursday mornings whilst a ‘drawn’ pairs league takes place on Thursday evenings.

In the triples league defending champions Highgate Wanderers made a bad start when losing their first game 15-10 to Wasps but made up ground in their next two outings with victories over Busy Bees (15-8) and Lightning (16-9). Last summer’s runners-up Yorkies shared top-spot after the first two weeks of fixtures after two wins and a draw, their latest outing being a 23-15 win against In A Minute.

Magpies started well, they fought back to draw 13-13 with Yorkies, and also have five points from three games whilst Dreamers too have five points but have played four games.

Presentation of the trophies for the winter league and knock-out competitions takes place this Saturday starting at 7pm. when Radio Lincolnshire sports presenter Rob Makepeace will be the guest.

Looking ahead to next winter there are spaces available for new teams in the following leagues: Men’s over 60s, Wednesday/Thursday morning triples, Monday evening EBF 2-bowl triples and the Tuesday/Wednesday evening triples.
