Little movement of teams was seen throughout the Morning Triples league table but one important change saw a switch in position of the top two.

Two wins for The Jays saw them move into first place, two points ahead of Highgate Wanderers, who only had the one game.

The Jays overwhelmed bottom team Lightning in their first game, winning 31-3, but faced sterner opposition in the following game against Two Plus One.

They edged this one over the final four ends to notch up a 12-6 success.

Highgate enjoyed a simple 22-5 victory over Hornets to remain in second place. Magpies are third on the same points tally as the top two but with a far inferior shots difference.

They also had just one game but comfortably won 25-6 against an off-form In A Minute team, who were 19-0 down a one stage.

Fourth-placed Yorkies are still well in the title chase after easing to two victories. They beat Two Plus One 18-4 and followed up by thumping Lightning 24-10.

This opened a gap of five points ahead of Mudlarks who maintained fifth spot thanks to a 19-7 win against Hornets.

There was no change in the positions in either groups of the Australian Pairs league.

In Group A, the top two pairs didn’t play and are still equal on points whilst third-placed Vic Ball & Mike Norton lost the chance to match the leading pairs points tally when losing out at the end of a tight game against Peter & Gill Fletcher, who grabbed two shots on the last end to ensure a 13-8 win.

In Group B, the Paul Hayman & Ian Bertram combination (with Val Sherry standing in for Bertram) held on to top spot on shots difference thanks to a 24-7 win over Noel & June Brougham.

Second-placed John Williams & Joan Foster eased to a 13-6 win against Fred & Jean Bradley but third-placed John Readman & George Chesman fell six points behind when beaten by Chuck Rose & Martin Oldfield, who chalked up 13 consecutive ends to triumph by 17-3.
