Louth Golf Club held two days of a Charity Opens and raised around £1,700 for the Captains’ charities, which this year are Marie Curie and Multiple Sclerosis.

On Saturday the Ladies better ball stableford, ¾ handicap, was won by Pam Shepherd and Janet Moody 35; 2nd F Smith & L West 33. Men’s: 1st Paul Brown & David Milward 44; 2nd R Murdy & K Adlard 43; 3rd J Osmond & T Nurrish 42; 4th R Rasmussen & S White 40pts (15 b6); 5th A Simmons & M Holdsworth 40pts (14 b6).

Best Female visitors not in the prizes Gwen Farmery & J Cannon 29; best male visitors not in the prizes Bob Tyler & Alan Hill 37.

The Seniors played on Monday: 1st Eric Turner & Don Potter, Louth G.C., with 43; 2nd H. Greenwood (Louth) & J. Teanby (Kenwick Park) 42; 3rd S. Thacker (Louth) & T. Davey (Kenwick Park) 40; 4th P. Inman & R. Beckett (Norwood Park) 39 points (22 b9); 5th R. Foulger & J. Wallis (Louth) 39 points (20 b9).

The best visitors not in the prizes were L. Porter & R. Todd (Normanby Hall). The Ladies hold their own separate Open on Tuesday September 5.
