Louth AC members celebrate success in busy month

It's been a busy month for Louth Athletic Club with members competing over distances ranging from 80m to 26.2 miles and everything in between.

Jason Oxby, Lisa Harkess and Claire Byatt competed in the Manchester Marathon finishing in 3:51.08, 4:13.15 and 4:58.33 respectively.

The club was represented in the London marathon by Jack Darnell who completed the legendary course in 3:41.26 and Jane Lammiman who finished 5:05.31.

There was a personal best for Hannah Reid in the second match of the Lincolnshire Athletics Association Track and Field League held at Grantham.

Hannah set the new PB finishing second in the under 15 girls’ 1,500m in 5:18.0 while Beatrice Spendlove was second in the under-15 girls’ high jump with 1.20m.

Declan Templeton ran hard to finish second in the under-11 boys’ 600m, finishing in 2:08.0 and Matthew Spendlove won the under-13 boys’ javelin with a throw of 19.44m.

There were also wins for Natalie and Kerry Stainton, Caleb Stephenson and Toby Alexander plus great results for Jason Stainton and Bethany Ardern.

Evie Odlin had a great day at the first meeting of the Humberside Track and Field League in Hull, finishing second in the under-15 girls’ quadrathlon.

She took the points running 300m in 47.5, 800m in 2:40.2, jumping 3.91m in the long jump and throwing 5.15m in the shot.

Also competing were Ellie Odlin, Hannah Reid, Caleb Stephenson, Toby Alexander, Freya Plaskitt and Lucas George-Jones,

Tonight is the first race in this year’s Wolds Dash Series held at Hubbards Hills in Louth.

Senior runners will follow a 7,137m course and there are also races for juniors ranging from 1,200m to 5,240m. All races start at 7pm.

You can enter on the night, with fees of £3 for affiliated senior athletes and £5 for non-affiliated. All junior races are £2 and race two is on June 8.
