Five members of Mablethorpe RC were of the 50 entrants that took part in the Bolingbroke Breaker on a pleasant summer evening this week.

Hosted by Skegness Coasters, this is a tough 10k race starting and finishing in the village of Old Bolingbroke. Despite the lovely scenery this is a hilly, challenging multi-terrain course.

First back for Mablethorpe, Nigel Booth had a strong finish in sixth place (43m 49s). Paul Stupple finished 18th in (48m 10s).

Sharon Wheatley Margarson managed 36th place (54m 20s) closely followed by Elaine Wilson finishing 42nd (56m 44s) with Guy Willey hot on her heels in 43rd place (57m 27s)

The race was won by Ben Evison of Skegness Coasters undeterred by the hills, he finished in 37m 05s.

The first female to finish was Debbie Simpson of Louth AC who completed the course in 48m 05s (17th overall).

As previously reported, Mablethorpe RC runners are keen to continue to take part in the many local Park Runs held on Saturdays in parks
and green areas around the UK.

This week, Sheryl Hawse, Janine Stones and Malcolm Brine were among the 177 entrants that turned out for the very popular Cleethorpes event, for them their first race at this venue.

Malcolm secured seventh position in a time of 19m 27s. Janine finished 12th in 19m 56s with Sheryl very closely following 13th in 20m 11s.

The winner of this event was Calum Hattersley (unaffiliated) in 18m 10s. The first female was Beverley Wilson (Cleethorpes & District AC) in 18m 50s.
