St Michael’s C of E Primary School built upon their swimming success last week, taking part in the English School Swimming Association’s (ESSA) East Midlands School Championships and qualifying for the national finals in June.

The pupils took part in the regional competition at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre on Friday (April 4), and came first place against schools from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northampshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

Their qualification for the national competition, which will be held at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge on June 21, cements St Michael’s status as one of the top 24 best primary school swimming teams in the country.
