Sandilands Golf Club winners

ON Sunday May 1 22 members played in the Daily Mail Foursomes Competition.

Winners with 74 were Paul Weston and Brassy, Roy Clow and Keith Arkesden came second also carding 74 but beaten on back nine countback.

Paul Chambers and Derek Hammond came third with 75.

Presentations were made by Club Captain David Hardy.

On Monday May 2 members played in a Bank Holiday Stableford Competition.

Darren Hastings won, Carl Middleton came second and Jamie Pittam third. John Graves got a two on the 17th hole.

On Tuesday May 3 the Ladies held a Medal Qualifying Competition.

Margaret Hammond won and Kath James came second, Margaret Hammond was the Bronze Qualifier.

Later the same day a Club Flag Competition was held. Paul Chambers came first, Colin Slater second and Keith Arkesden third.

Richard Walker got a two on the 2nd hole and Brassy a two on the 17th hole.

On Wednesday May 4 the Seniors played a home match against Blankney Seniors.

Sandilands won the match 8-1. Winning pairings were Brian Marks and Bill Webb, Mick Battersby and John Needham, Alan Metcalfe and Tony Lester, Tony Seward and Jack Taylor, Bill Wilson and Joe Kelly, Roy Clow and Derek Hammond, Mike Yarnold and Keith Arkesden and Pete Naylor and Pete Yorston.

Kate Naylor and her sister Sure manned the ‘halfway house’.
