DOCTORS from United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust narrowly edged their Hull counterparts in a friendly cricket match held at London Road on July 24.
The Lincolnshire side lost the toss and were sent in to bat, and endured a poor start finding themselves 3 for 3.
Skipper Dr Ahmed made a game changing 42 in a 110 run partnership with Mr Qaimkahni (40).
Some late hitting from Dr Pillai, Dr Sharma and Dr Podkar hauled them up to a respectable 172 from their 30 overs.
Hull doctors also had a tough start, losing their first wicket in the very first over with Dr Podkar carrying on his batting heroics with a fine slip catch. Hull steadily worked their way towards their 173 target, tight bowling from Dr Qaimkhani (2 for 15) and Dr Ahmed (2 for 16) meant Hull needed 18 from their final two overs for victory.
Chris Lee bowled the penultimate over picking up a wicket for just three runs, and 15 from the final over was too much with Lincolnshire earning a seven run win despite M.Yousuf smashing 102.
The away side praised their hosts and the hospitaility given by tea ladies Val Smart and Mrs Ahmed.
