The centre, in Great Steeping near Spilsby, is a registered charity and sanctuary for heavy horses and their smaller friends.

Run entirely by volunteers, they host costumed events through the summer season in order to keep up the care of the horses.

“We rely heavily on the income from these shows to help keep us going from one month to the next,” said Terena Bolam, the centre’s unpaid manager.

“The centre is seriously struggling at the moment, so getting people to come and support the event is critical.

“All our volunteers and horses do their best to entertain the public through our shows and create a happy environment with fun and laughter.”

The day will see medieval knights trying their hand at skill at arms, fire performances, musical dogs, the fabulous Derek Tindal Birds of Prey flying displays and Jester Bruce Knight, who runs Spilsby Theatre and is a great supporter of Northcote.

There will also be stalls to browse and a bouncy castle.

The tea room will be open too as a BBQ.
