Tea with Chaucer and Shakespeare at Louth

Louth WEA (Workers’ Education Association) will be running a Saturday school on Tea with Jane, Geoffrey, William and Charles about famous writers at the ConocoPhillips Room on March 16. To enrol call 01507 601072.

What did Chaucer’s cook prepare in his medieval kitchen? Did Shakespeare live on ‘cakes and ale’? Who wrote down the recipes in the Austen household? And why did the much-maligned wife of Charles Dickens publish a menu book under the name of ‘Lady Maria Clutterbuck’?

Join them as they dip into the works of these great writers, and taste some of the delicacies mentioned in their immortal poetry and prose.
