Louth People’s Orchestra was invited to perform at Louth’s Zero Degrees Festival and gave a brief concert at St. James’ Church last week to an appreciative audience.

The orchestra’s next event is a fundraising coffee morning at the Conoco Rooms on Saturday July 12 at 10am, when various ensembles from the orchestra will regale the patrons with musical items, including ‘Stringing Along’, the orchestra’s resident string quartet, ‘Flute Salad’, a cello quartet, and other delights. Come along and have a coffee, a biscuit and a listen.

The LPO has more concerts and events lined up in the coming months, and is always looking for new members.

If you would like to join, you can simply turn up at any meeting, ring Amanda on 01507 354816 or Terry on 01507 473637, or look at the Louth People’s Orchestra page on Facebook.

The orchestra is in need of French horns, percussion and upper strings, and rehearses on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 3pm to 5pm at the Conoco Rooms above Louth Library.
