The Congress, a movie that mixes live action and fascinating animation is to be shown at Louth Film Club on Monday, June 1.

From the director of Waltz with Bashir and Ari Folman, it follows the life of an actor as digital technology seeks to take over the very soul of her performance and even her soul itself.

The Congress possesses an almost Kubrick-like depth in its bizarre exploration of manipulation and domination, taking in issues as diverse as intellectual copyright and internet avatars.

The Congress is Cert 15 and starts at 7.30pm at the Playhouse Cinema in Cannon Street, Louth.

Club membership costs £10 with £4 for each film, £6.50 for non-members and £5.20 for concessions.
