A series of special events will be held at churches in Louth and the surrounding area in the run up to Christmas, as well as on the day itself.

There will be ‘Carols for All’ at 7.30pm on Thursday December 18, at St James’ Church where people from across the town are invited to join in this celebration of Christmas with readings and carols that tell the Christmas story.

The singing will be led by the Girl Choristers and Adults of the Choir of St James’, together with the Senior and Intermediate Choirs of King Edward VI Grammar School.

This year they will be joined by Laudate – a new group for boys that will be singing for the first time at this service.

Christmas Eve events are as follows: morning prayer with meditation at St James’ Church (8.30am), crib service at St Michael’s Church (3.30pm), crib service at St James’ Church (4pm), Midnight Mass at St Michael’s Church (11.30pm) and Midnight Eucharist with the Bishop of Grimsby at St James’ Church (11.30pm).

Christmas Day services are as follows: Holy Communion at Welton le Wold (8.30am), Holy Communion at Stewton (9.30am), Christmas Day Communion at St James’ Church (10am) and Holy Communion at South Elkington (11am).
