POP sensation Peter Andre will play Market Rasen Racecourse in the summer of 2011 in a first for the horse racing industry.
The TV personality has never before performed at a race meeting – and a capacity crowd is expected.
Tickets for the evening concert on Saturday August 20 will be in huge demand, with sales beginning on Friday December 10.
The pop star’s concerts frequently sell out, so early booking is highly recommended.
Peter Andre said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be performing at Market Rasen Racecourse next summer.
“I’ve performed at loads of different venues around the world, but I’ve never sung at the races before. I’ve heard that there’s always a great atmosphere, so I’m really looking forward to it and hope to see everyone there.”
2010 saw the Aussie hunk enjoy a sell-out 38-date tour, a number two selling book My World, a top selling aftershave Conditional and a perfume Mysterious Girl which went straight to number one in the perfume charts. He was also chosen as ‘Dad of the Year’.
Peter Andre became the sixth highest selling artist in Britain during the 1990s. He has had numerous number one hit singles, two number one albums and has toured all over the world, collecting a multitude of national and international awards.
Market Rasen Racecourse held its inaugural music night in the summer with a trio of X Factor show finalists. The event was so popular was it that the management decided to host more major entertainment events in the future.
Pip Kirkby, managing director of Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “With Peter Andre being such a famous performer and personality, we are anticipating the concert after racing on Saturday August 20 to be very popular indeed.
“His good looks and charisma make Peter Andre appealing to people of all ages, and he has a huge following, so we’re expect the telephones to be read hot with ticket orders.”
