Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent will be at the Playhouse Cinema in Louth on Monday, August 4, for a Louth Film Club Q&A.
The club will be showing the comedy drama Le Week-End, in which he and Lindsay Duncan play a couple visiting Paris in the hopes of rekindling their marriage.
Immediately after the film he will hold a Q&A session in which he will talk about the film and his long and fruitful career as an actor, for the cinema and TV, and on stage.
Club chairman Alex McMullen said: “I’m thrilled that Jim Broadbent has agreed to visit us again. He’s one of the country’s finest screen actors and one its most prolific, having appeared in over 50 feature films, many of them in leading roles, and countless TV programmes.”
The event is open to all and starts at 7.30pm. Advance tickets are available from Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street, Louth, on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Price to non-members is £6.50, or £5.20 concessions. They will also be on sale from the Playhouse box office.
Le Week-End is Certificate 15. The film starts at 7.30pm, upstairs in Screen 1, and the whole event should finish by 10pm. Further details about the club and its films can be found on its website — www.louthfilmclub.com — or in its printed programme, available from Off The Beaten Tracks, Louth Library or the Playhouse Cinema.
