TENNYSON Players are bringing Shakespeare to Mablethorpe in their latest theatre showcase.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been re-written and set in 1953 Mablethorpe during the famous floods.
Character Hetty is forbidden to marry her fairground love Larry, Helen dotes on David, but David idolises Hetty. The four lovers meet in the dunes and the confusion begins.
Local references are made throughout, and the show includes several 1950s songs.
Performances are at the Mablethorpe Community Hall on Saturday, September 3 at 7.30pm and Sunday, September 4 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
