A team effort by businesses in Boston to raise their profile among shoppers through an online competition has been declared a success.

The Boston Collaboration Project was held on Facebook last month.

It gave residents the chance to win a prize bundle worth more then £1,000 in total, put together by dozens of businesses in the area.

To enter, members of the public had to interact with a post about the competition published by one of the participating businesses. Out of 3,174 entries, Pat Newton was selected as the winner.

Charlotte Reynolds, of Angelic Occasions, who devised the initiative, said: “As a group of business, we now have further plans to develop our collaboration project and continue to promote and support each other. All businesses have expressed an interest in wanting to run the competition again next year and we have new businesses on board after seeing this success as well.”
