NOSTALGIA: Bird is the word for Carrington pupils in 1986

Carrington County Primary School’s senior class welcomed Gordon Priestly, a licensed bird ringer, for a presentation 35 years ago.

The youngsters had been doing a topic on birds, which included putting food out to help their feathered friends through the cold spell.

Mr Priestly and other ringers caught birds humanely in special nets and put rings on their legs to monitor movement and life-span.
