Bircotes: Inquest opened into shotgun death riddle man

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of Paul White, who is believed to have shot himself after injuring his partner.

Mr White, 38, was found dead at his home on Galway Road in Bircotes on 27th December.

His girlfriend Shani Cockrell remains in hospital after the incident.

Assistant coroner for Notts, Dr Timothy Connery, said a post-mortem confirmed that Mr White had died from a shotgun wound to the head.

No provisional date has yet been set for the conclusion of the inquest.
