Notts: Commissioner commits £25,000 to new project
The Way Forward project is being run by city-based charity, Afro-Caribbean Education & Training Services (ACETS), which delivers counselling, mentoring and training for African and Afro-Caribbean people and will deliver a series of skills training workshops and coaching to 80 people from within the BME community including ex-offenders, care levers and young people involved in gangs, drugs and prostitution as well as refugees, asylum seekers and new immigrants.
Commissioner Tipping has committed £25,000 to the project from his Community Safety Partnership Fund and the money will help to provide ICT skills training, employment and job advice including CV preparation, interview skills, literacy and numeracy support, role play and mock interviews.
