Hear ye! Town crier John makes proclamation to the Queen
Sleaford's Town Crier, John Griffiths, far right, was busy honouring the Queen on her 90th birthday last week as a member of the Loyal Company of Town Criers. He said: 'I was invited to go down to London with the group to present the Queen with a Proclamation for Her Majesty's 90th birthday.'
After making the proclamation at Buckingham Palace, the criers handed the scroll to the Captain of the Queen’s Guard. John said it took three months to organise and added: “It felt very special to be there and be part of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday celebrations in front of several thousand tourists outside Buckingham Palace.”
