LOUTH’S Walk ‘n’ Natter group will be joined by over 50s from around the area in a 10,000-metre challenge this Tuesday, October 4.
Already more than 20 people have signed up for the Olympic-themed event which starts at 12.15pm at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth.
There will be a picnic break halfway round the circular walk, so anyone going along requires a light packed lunch and a plastic sheet to sit on. Sturdy footwear is advisable, and also appropriate all-weather clothing.
John Heywood from Louth and District Seniors’ Forum reports that many people’s general health has improved as a result of taking part in Walk ‘n’ Natter and said: “We’re all walking tall.”
All walkers who complete the 10,000 metres will be presented with a certificate. Anyone aged 50 or over is welcome to join in and make this a fun afternoon.
