Louth Film Club latest screening

ON Monday, April 2 at the Playhouse Cinema, Louth Film Club will be showing A Separation, the Iranian winner of the 2012 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

This superbly directed and acted film tells the story of a middle class Tehran couple at odds over the wife’s determination to leave Iran, taking their daughter with her, and the husband’s determination to stay, to look after his ailing father.

Their dispute and the husband’s conflict with the couple’s domestic help reveal some surprising aspects of Iranian society.
