BIRDS of prey will be on show on Sunday August 21 at the Medieval Tournament being held at the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre, Great Steeping, Spilsby, with flying demonstrations provided by CJ’s Birds of Prey.

Terena Bolam said that CJ’s demonstrations are brilliant and their talks on the birds are very informative and they often bring ten birds with them for the public to see.

As well as the birds of prey the resident heavy horses and their riders will be in full costume demonstrating mounted skill at arms, with some of the riders very keen to win the tournament from Sir Heels Down and his trusted Shire horse Hercules who have won the last few tournaments.

As well as the mounted knights the Lincolnshire equestrian vaulting team will be demonstrating gymnastics on horseback, there will be a side saddle demo and the jester will be entertaining with fire breathing and eating.

There will also be stalls, a bouncy castle, hot and cold food and drinks as well as a licensed bar provided from the Bell pub at Halton Holegate.

The day is a major fundraiser for the care of the horses that live at the horse centre which is a registered charity, and this event is the last of the big events of the season.
