MARIGOLD Cottage in Hotchin Road, Sutton on Sea, is open on Sunday September 11 for the National Gardens Scheme from 11am to 4pm.

It is the home of Stephanie Lee and John Raby.

Stephanie is an assistant county organiser for Lincolnshire and this is a great plantswoman’s seaside garden which has doubled in size with the acquisition of adjacent land.

There is a large variety of unusual hardy perennials and a Japanese bed showing the Oriental influence from years spent in the Far East.

There is a new vegetable plot, a greenhouse, summerhouse, gravel garden and raised beds providing more planting and design opportunities. Visitors will find Stephanie great fun to talk to and a knowledgeable gardener.

Admission is £3 with children free.

There will be homemade teas and plants for sale.
