Visitors at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway this Bank Holiday weekend will find an unusually large number of scarecrows scattered around the stations at Ludborough and North Thoresby.
But these scarecrows aren’t there to frighten the birds away - they have been specially made for the Scarecrow Festival, which is being held on Sunday August 25 and Bank Holiday Monday August 26.
Children who go along in scarecrow fancy dress can travel on the train free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Visitors can also join in the fun by entering a competition to spot the scarecrows, which will placed at sites around the railway over the weekend.
Steam trains will be running every hour from 10.45am to 3.45pm on both days.
