The Secret in Their Eyes

ON Monday November 14 at the Playhouse Cinema, Louth Film Club will be screening the Argentinian winner of the 2010 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

The Secret In Their Eyes is a gripping thriller and also a great love story. When Benjamin, a retired Buenos Aires court investigator starts delving into a 35-year-old murder he runs into Irene, his former boss, whom he’s still clearly in love with.

Ricardo Darín, Soledad Villamil and Guillermo Francella give brilliant performances as Benjamin, Irene and Sandoval, Benjamin’s friend and colleague.

The Secret In Their Eyes, in Spanish with subtitles, is Certificate 18.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Non-members are welcome at Louth Film Club’s screenings, paying the normal Playhouse ticket prices (£5.90 or £4.70 concessions).

Details of the club and its films can be found on its website — — or you can pick up a 2011/12 programme from Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street, Louth (closed on Thursdays) or in Louth Library, the Playhouse Cinema or the Tourist Information Office.
