The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is gearing up for its annual 1940s Event on September 7 and 8 at Ludborough Station which is held in conjunction with the village of North Thoresby.
Civilian and Military Re-enactors, Living History Displays, music, song and dance, civilian and military vintage vehicles, 1940’s food and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight plus much more is provided throughout the weekend.
The BBMF will be attending with a Spitfire and Hurricane on Saturday and the Lancaster on Sunday commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Dambusters Raid.
A static MK 1X Spitfire and memorabilia display will be on show at Ludborough Station with a Scramble living history scenario.
Visitors can ride on vintage steam trains in both directions and a 1938 vintage bus will run a shuttle service from North Thoresby Station to North Thoresby village.
Visitors can park free at Ludborough Station.
“Our 1940s Weekend gets bigger every year and it promises to be a great day out for all the family,” said organiser Gordon Newton.
