A team of six from Mablethorpe are pedalling 100km this Saturday for charity in memory of a well-known local woman.
Rick Bearman has done a cycle ride for charity for the past three years.
But this particular charity ride has special significance, as Rick and five other local residents are going the distance in memory of Rick’s wife, Fiona Bearman, who died in December last year.
Fiona was very well-known in the area locally.
Rick, alongside Jack Stevenson, David Hesling, Lindsey Stuart, Peter Thomas and Peter Mills will be setting off from the main pullover in Mablethorpe at 10am this Saturday (September 20).
The six are then hoping to complete the ride and finish up at Shampers Wine Bar in Victoria Road between 3-4pm.
Rick commented: “I do a charity bike ride every year and this will be the third time. This one does have a special significance, as we are also riding in memory of Fiona.
“We have already managed to raise £600 and we’re all hoping to raise as much money as we possibly can for this year’s worthy causes.”
The group are raising funds for the Mablethorpe RNLI Lifeboats and The Epilepsy Action Sunflower Tribute Fund.
So whether it is at the starting point at Mablethorpe’s Main Pullover or at their finishing point at Shampers Wine Bar, why not pop by to either wish the cyclists well on their journey prior to their departure time or congratulate them on their return.
There will also be a raffle held at Shampers on this day, with the winners being announced at the wine bar between 9pm and 10pm that same evening.
