1940s Event at Lincolnshire Wolds Railway and North Thoresby

The 1940s Event gets bigger each year and this one promises a great time for the whole family.

The event at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, Ludborough, on September 7 and 8 is held in conjunction with the village of North Thoresby.

Go along and you will be able to see civilian and military re-enactors, living history displays, music, song and dance.

There will be civilian and military vintage vehicles, 1940’s food to enjoy and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight plus much more is provided throughout the weekend.

The BBMF will be attending with a Spitfire and Hurricane on the Saturday and the Lancaster on the Sunday - commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the famous Dambusters Raid when the bouncing bomb was used.

A static MK 1X Spitfire and memorabilia display will be on show at Ludborough Station with a Scramble living history scenario.

Visitors can ride on vintage steam trains in both directions and a 1938 vintage bus will run a shuttle service from North Thoresby Station to North Thoresby village.

Visitors can park for free at Ludborough Station.

It is the biggest event of the ywear for the dedicated volunteers at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

“Our 1940s Weekend gets bigger every year and it promises to be a great day out for all the family,” said organiser Gordon Newton.
