FOUR fundraisers strapped up their boots and completed a 66-mile charity trek to raise money for local causes.

Debbie Prince, Paul Dennis, Pete Shelley and Nigel Cook walked from the Dunes complex in Mablethorpe to Boston, and back again via Wainfleet, to raise around £1,000 for the Poppy Appeal, Mablethorpe RNLI, the Seal Sanctuary and Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea LIVES.

After leaving at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 2, they returned 26-and-a-half-hours later.

“This is got to be one of the hardest challenges I have ever done as walking through the night in the pouring rain was hard work,” Debbie said.

“We had fantastic back up support from Jenny Meredith and Kay Cook who without them the event would not have been possible.”

The Dunes complex will be organising various charity events throughout the year with the next one on Sunday, August 12 which will be a one and three-mile fun run/walk
starting and finish from the RNLI Station on Mablethorpe seafront.

Anyone can enter on the day, £5 adults and £2.50 children, fancy dress is optional.
