Students from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar in Alford had great pleasure in presenting a cheque for £5,500 to representatives from the Keith’s Dogs, Skegness.
Every year the students choose a charity to raise funds for during Charity Week in February and set themselves an ambitious target of at least £5,000.
Various events were organised during the week including form stalls, a ‘Spring Celebration’ music concert, a fun run, a sponsored male leg wax and a non-uniform day with a lunchtime disco.
Every student contributed to the impressive total, with one Year 9 form raising over £1,000 from chocolate tombolas in the community.
Miss Francis, headteacher, said: “I am delighted that the whole school community came together to support this local charity and raise so much money.”
