An ambulance driver accused of causing the death of a patient from Sutton on Sea has appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday).

Garth Green, 63, of Nelson Way, Grimsby, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing the death of Margaret Allsop, 75, by careless or inconsiderate driving on December 12 last year.

Mrs Allsop was in the East Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle when it ended up in a ditch on the A16, Boston Road, Sibsey, at 2.58am.

Green, who was represented by Roy Foreman of Roy Foreman and Co. Solicitors, Grimsby, spokes only to confirm his name, address and plea.

The public gallery was filled by family and friends.

Magistrates decided to hold the case in their jurisdiction and adjourned the case for a pre-trial review on September 16 at 10am and Green was released on summons for the case, but not required to attend.
