RESIDENTS of Doulton Care Home in Sutton on Sea are now enjoying new age kurling after an unknown donor funded the equipment.
The residents were given a taste of the sport last year during a fun day in Mablethorpe. They were then loaned a kurling kit which meant they could enjoy the game in their own home.
But after months of fundraising the prospect of buying the equipment themselves looked bleak, until the kind member of the public stepped in.
Activity leader Rose Parnell said: “The residents love the kurling as it’s great for mobility and socialising and we’re really pleased we got the anonymous donation.”
New age kurling is a variation on the winter olympics sport, the game can be played on any surface.
