A number of attempted burglaries have occurred in beach chalets in Mablethorpe and PC Andy Barlow is appealing for witnesses.

Police were called to the South Promenade area at 8.20pm on Monday, December 9, after a member of the public saw two youths attempting to gain entry to a chalet.

The youths fled the scene but inspection revealed that a total of four chalets had suffered some form of damage to doors or windows, apparently in a attempt to force entry.

The youths were thought to be aged around 14 and were wearing dark clothing. Local youngsters are being reminded that such incidents are treated as an attempt to burgle, rather than criminal damage or trespass, and the consequences can be very serious.

Anyone with information about who might be responsible for the attempted burglaries should contact PC Barlow by dialling 101 and quoting incident number, 436 of December 9, 2013.

Or you can report any information anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
