An award-winning, tender family drama set in Tel Aviv’s Haredim Orthodox Jewish
community (rarely seen in mainstream cinema) is to be shown at Louth Film Club.
Fill the Void is written and directed by Rama Burshteinand will be shown at the Playhouse Cinema on Monday, January 11.
The film is notable for its glowing camera work as it follows the story of 18-year-old Shira who is torn between her own ambitions and the duties
faith and families impose.
Paul Hill, chair of Louth Film Club, commented: “The film is a sensitive and intelligent reminder of the impact on individual choice in life within a strict community.”
The film will start at 7.30pm and tickets are £4 for LFC members and £6.90 for non-members.
