Belmont to switch off analogue TV

THE BELMONT TV transmitter near Louth begins the digital switchover on Wednesday August 3.

All homes that receive their TV signal from Belmont will be affected.

Stage one begins in the early hours when BBC Two will stop broadcasting in analogue and BBC digital channels will become available for the first time to viewers watching local relay transmitters.

Stage two takes place on Wednesday August 17 when all remaining analogue channels, BBC One, ITV1, Chanel 4 and Channel 5, will be switched off and replaced with digital services.

All viewers with Freeview, BT Vision and Top Up TV will need to retune their equipment at both stages of the switchover.
