The continuing revitalisation of the coastal area has taken another step forward.

A new community interest company was launched into the public domain on Friday.

The official launch of the Mablethorpe Area Partnership Community Interest Company (MAP CIC) took place at the Coastal Centre in Victoria Road, Mablethorpe.

Local businesses were invited to drop in during the day to meet the board and find out about the plans and ambitions for the future.

MAP CIC aims to be at the heart of the area, supporting Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe.

John Clarke, Chair of MAP, said: “The Mablethorpe Area Partnership has recently become a Community Interest Company to better serve our catchment area and underline our commitment to ensuring our area grows and regenerates to meet its future needs. Part of this planned growth includes incorporating the activities of the Mablethorpe Tourism Forum and the Chamber of Trade (MASCOT) within our remit. The launch was well attended by a variety of supporting organisations and led to a number of local businesses joining as subscribing members to support our plans and activities, for which we thank them. We look forward positively to the future.”

Karen Froggatt, Operations Manager, said: “It was great to see a good number of businesses at the launch of the Mablethorpe Area Partnership Community Interest Company (MAP CIC). We hope to see more businesses joining us in the near future. The only way we can have a big impact and make a difference will be by working together.”

CICs conduct activities for the benefit of the community rather than for private advantage.

MAP CIC will have to declare to the regulator the work it carries out is for the benefit of the area.
