YEAR nine Cordeaux pupil Molly Broughton has been so fascinated by recent history lessons she brought in a genuine Second World War bomb for all to see.

Pupils have been researching war time events in Louth during their history lessons and have been intrigued by the events of a raid in March 1944 in the grounds of Kenwick Hall Military Hospital.

During this raid an enemy aircraft was shot down by a Mosquito plane from 264 Squadron and crashed in Legbourne.

One of the crew landed by parachute at Manby crossroads and was captured, spending the remainder of the war at Donna Nook camp.

Molly said: “My dad has always been interested and now I share his passion for Second World War history.”
