Two women from Louth are stepping into the world of business to begin an online gift service.

Lisa Bullivant, 33, and Nikki Wheeldon, 26, have created Send a Box – a simple way to send a collection of gifts for any occasion.

The duo are organising a launch party to present their business plan – and are keen to start a crowdfunding campaign in the hope that people will buy a stake in the business to help get it off the ground.

Lisa explained: “Send a Box is the ideal modern day gift-giving platform. The business is 100 per cent online, so whether you’re sat at home on your computer or out on your mobile, it’s easy to access and simple to use.”

Nikki added: “The idea for the business came from my friend who was having a tough time and I really wanted to give her something to cheer her up.

“After searching long and hard, there wasn’t really anything available, so myself and Lisa both talked about the idea and started to think about the business behind the gift, which we essentially couldn’t find for my friend.”

The launch party will take place at The Greyhound in Louth this Saturday, October 17, from 1pm to 4pm.

There will be a raffle, with a number of prizes donated by local businesses.
