Paul and Flora Bennett of Brackenborough Hall Coach House have said they are “delighted” to have been shortlisted in the Self Caterer of the Year category at the upcoming Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards.
The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the new Bishop Burton venue at the Lincolnshire Showground on Tuesday October 27.
Brackenborough Hall Coach House offers three luxury self catering apartments at Brackenborough Hall near Louth. The Bennett family have farmed at Brackenborough for over 100 years, and now produce wheat, oil seed rape, barley, beans and beef, as well as welcoming guests to the Coach House.
As members of Select Lincolnshire, Paul and Flora encourage their guests to enjoy Lincolnshire produce and to support local businesses during their stay. Guests staying at the Coach House all receive a complimentary Lincolnshire plum bread and free seasonal vegetables from the garden at Brackenborough Hall.
Local produce is on sale, including Scaman’s eggs, St Boltoph’s apple juice, honey from Lakings, Piper’s Crisps and Ownsworth’s rape seed oil.
Guests are encouraged to visit local restaurants and cafes, and to buy sausages, stuffed chine, cheeses, beers, fruit and vegetables at Louth’s market and excellent independent shops. Flora’s recent ‘Louth’s Glorious Food’ video, showcasing the fantastic local produce on offer in the town, has already had over 400 views on Youtube.
Flora said “We believe that Lincolnshire has fantastic local food and want our visitors to enjoy it.
“We can’t wait for the awards ceremony.”
