THE OPENING hours at Louth waste recycling centre on the Fairfield Industrial Estate are to be cut.
A decision was taken at today’s Lincolnshire County Council executive meeting to approve changes to the opening hours and days at the county’s 13 household waste recycling centres.
The council says a ‘recent successful retendering process for 11 of the recycling centres meant that no closures were required to make the £1.215m savings needed for this financial year.’
The Louth centre currently opens seven days a week.
From April 1 it will open four days a week – Friday to Monday, from 9am to 4pm.
Coun Lewis Strange, Executive Member for Waste Services and Green Issues, said: “I’m delighted to be able to confirm this news, which means we can keep all 13 of our excellent household waste recycling centres open for people to use. We do still need to save £1.215m from the waste budget for this year however, which is why the opening hours and days have been changed to help achieve this.”
