THE official route for the Olympic torch that will travel through Louth and the surrounding villages plus the selected torchbearers have been announced this morning (Monday).
Exactly one month before the torch makes it’s way to the Olympic Stadium in London, the torch will be carried through Louth on Wednesday June 27, at an early start of 7.45am.
Starting from Grimsby Road in Louth, the torch will then be taken through Bridge Street and will finish on Upgate where it will then head out of town towards Legbourne.
It will then make it’s way through Withern and Maltby Le Marsh before heading to Mablethorpe and along the coast.
The selected torchbearers who will carry the torch through Louth are Michelle Brown, Chris Suich, James Roark, Stuart Mclachlan and Timothy Pearson.
There are still 700 more people who have been selected to carry the Olympic torch who have not had their place set on the route yet, they in the will be announced in the coming months.
