Broadband years behind the curve


Dismay at the poor broadband coverage in East Lindsey has been sounded by Coun Daniel Simpson.

“The quality is worse than in Turkey,” he said. “It’s affecting the agriculture and haulage industries - in fact almost everyone trying to do business in the district.

“We’ve spent loads of money on improvement initiatives, but we’re still years behind.”

Council leader Coun Doreen Stephenson agreed, stating that she found internet access was sometimes better on the train from Newark to London.

“I shan’t be investing in expensive 4G until the broadband service has improved,” she added
