Concerns over new social housing development in Louth are quashed

Fears that a 66-home development in Louth had been abandoned by East Lindsey’s housing association have been firmly quashed.

A member of the public, who did not wish to be named, told the Leader he was concerned that the Dales Close and Dales Way development, off Brackenborough Road, had been left half completed by contractors.

But Waterloo Housing Group confirmed that the scheme is almost complete and around half the homes are already occupied with the remainder ready for occupation subject to the completion of ‘external works and roadways’.

The association said they are working with the developer, Stepford Homes, to complete the work and move new families into the homes ‘in the coming weeks’.

Jack Whyman, director of operations at Waterloo Housing Group (incorporating New Linx Housing Trust) said: “We are working with Stepfords to resolve contractual issues which have led to some delay in the completion of the outstanding works.

“However we are confident that the scheme will be completed in the near future, providing much-needed comfortable and energy efficient homes for our residents.”
